Ted Lilly Start #31 Recap: Ted Knocks Over Molina, Cardinals in Route to Victory

Not much to say about this one except for the fact that Ted Lilly was ridiculously dominant tonight, capturing a much needed win and going 8 innings with 5 strikeouts, one earned run and no walks---all without having to throw his patented Lillyhammer curve once for a strike.

Even more ridiculous is the fact that he knocked over Yadier Molina in the 2nd inning who later had to leave the game with a thigh bruise (memo to Yadier: you're a man and a professional athlete--thigh bruises don't count...either do hang nails, biting your tongue, boogie monsters or stubbing your toe on clubhouse door).

Let's all join hands and sing:

"Go Ted Go"

Baseball season's underway
Horrah for us it is a Ted's Day
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
Ted Lilly's gonna win today!

We're singing ...

Go, Ted, go
Go, Ted, go
Hey, Ted Head's, what do you say
Ted Lilly's gonna win today

Go, Ted, go
Go, Ted, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
Ted Lilly's gonna win today.

Ted's got power, Ted changes speeds
He can strike out all in both Leagues
He'll pick you off if you try to steal,
And drive the ball to opposite Field!

We're singing now...

Go, Ted, go
Go, Ted, go
Hey, Ted Head's, what do you say
Ted Lilly's gonna win today

Go, Ted, go
Go, Ted, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
Ted Lilly's gonna win today.

Hammer time is here again
Curves galore from the boy from Torran -ce
Buckle your knees or in on your hands
With Ted on the mound you're sure to fan.

We're singing now...

Go, Ted, go
Go, Ted, go
Hey, Ted Head's, what do you say
Ted Lilly's gonna win today

Go, Ted, go
Go, Ted, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
Ted Lilly's gonna win today.

I think I'm going to make cornbread tomorrow in honor of Ted's awesome performance in this game.

I thought you made Blueberry pie when "Left Handed Starting Pitchers SteamRoll Catchers During A Close Play At The Plate"? Why change now?

I guess cornbread will suffice.

I heard that when Ted crushed Molina, the dorks running the "big bang" machine in Europe stopped in a panic and screamed , "What the hell was that?!?!"

What, no mention of Ted's cold-as-ice dismissal of Looper's headhunt pitch?

Even as a Sox fan, that barreling by Ted over Molina was impressive - I think the Bears should have him on speed-dial in the event that Mike Brown gets injured again for the 18th year in a row.

This is my new favorite blog. It kicks more ass than Ted Lilly fighting John Gibbons.

I love how he just gets up and keeps walking!

Theodore, you BAMF!

Quite a lot to talk about Ted Heads, anyone else see Felipe Lopez's quote? He essentially signed his own death certificate by calling TL, "Not that good."

We envision TL simply charging Lopez during batting practice next week... better yet, TL showing up at Lopez's hotel and just staring into his window all weekend.

We'll try and be a better TLFC these coming days, we've been slightly predisposed this week - we've got to make sure the TLFC playoff bunker is ready for the playoffs and you know those damn drywallers just don't show up on time.
